Summer has nearly arrived and it’s time to treat your wardrobe to a welcome update with some of the hottest jewelry trends. Bold colors, intriguing shapes, and fascinating materials lend a playful touch to this year’s runway looks.

Minimalist Jewelry

While some trends fade after just a few seasons, minimalist jewelry is clearly here to stay, perhaps because this look is so wonderfully wearable. Easy to pair with workday basics, casual looks, and your favorite little black dress, these versatile favorites also happen to be quite affordable. It’s worth noting that minimalistic doesn’t mean boring! Fascinating geometric shapes, tiny sparkling studs, stacks of slender rings, and layer upon layer of thin chains let you keep your look light while adding a touch of fun. Try a lariat necklace or treat yourself to some threader earrings like this pair from Anne Sisteron. A few key pieces can add elegance to your everyday wardrobe without weighing down your jewelry box.

Oversized Earrings

What if minimalism isn’t really your thing? No worries – oversized earrings are here to save the day. This look is a favorite since large earrings frame your face beautifully, and are a simple way to add a touch of glamour to a basic outfit. Shoulder-dusters, door-knockers, and hoops are just a few of the most popular options. Ralph Lauren, Zadig & Voltaire, and Badgley Mischka designs were among the oversized earrings to receive accolades at Fashion Week 2018.

Chokers

Chokers are nothing new, yet they’re among the hottest jewelry trends. Alexander Wang, Jason Wu, and Versace were just a few designers to show off their latest chokers at Fashion Week 2018. While many of the newest styles are big and bold, delicate chokers offer a timeless look. Whether you prefer ribbon, leather, or the classic look of gold, there is a most certainly a choker that suits your taste perfectly. Like minimalist jewelry, chokers are versatile enough to pair with a variety of fashions.

Mismatched Earrings

Asymmetrical looks have been spotted on runways over the past few seasons, and this year’s looks continue to offer bold, beautiful touches. Mismatched earrings from Oscar de la Renta, Jonathan Simkhai, and Adeam were among several designs spotted at Fashion Week. This is a great look that’s easy to pull off with earrings from your existing collection, if you’d like to: simply choose a larger earring and pair it with a tiny stud, a small hoop, or an earring in a different material or finish. If large earrings aren’t your cup of tea but you’d like to give the trend a try, consider using Meghan Markle’s style as inspiration and simply pair two smaller mismatched earrings! If you’d like to treat yourself to something special, consider mismatched earrings from a fine jewelry designer such as Jennifer Fisher, Melissa Joy Manning, or Maryam Salemi.

Asymmetrical Rings

Cluster rings have been popular for decades, and one of the top jewelry trends reimagines the cluster in a newly bold, beautiful way. With precious or semi-precious gemstones, diamonds, and mixed metals, these rings make a statement while serving as wearable works of art. The looks are everywhere, even in bridal jewelry. You’ll find inspiration from designers such as Harriet Kelsall, Artemer, and Metamorphosis Jewelry.

Cuffs

Ear cuffs and edgy arm cuffs are everywhere this year. Designers have combined the ear climber and ear cuff trends together in some cases. Prabal Gurung’s pearl designs caused a stir on the runway, and we love the way Brandon Maxwell and Philip Lim incorporated playful patterns and colors into their arm cuff designs. Meanwhile, Christian Siriano made a favorable impression with a bold gold ear cuff.

Body Jewelry

Ready to make a stunning impact? Body jewelry is trending. Gucci and Jacquemus displayed bold sparkles and delicate, minimalistic chains, while Phillip Lim incorporated Natural shells into his designs. Simone Rocha incorporated brilliant beads and sleek ribbons into an imaginative cross-body necklace.

Mixed Metals and Gold Layering

Remember the old fashion advice to wear accessories of a single metal color only? It’s long gone. Mixed metals have been on trend for a while now, as has been gold layering. Jewelry with white, yellow, and rose gold is making a comeback, as are different variations of mixed metal, with or without diamonds or gemstones. Layering several necklaces or bracelets together can create a stunning effect, particularly when you use lots of delicate pieces together. Try a choker and a lariat for an impressive yet lightweight look.

The latest jewelry trends are fantastically wearable, with a little something to suit every taste. Choose your favorite and create a signature look of your own!
