Telling and Protecting the Kids in the Early Stages of Divorce with Kate Anthony

One of the hardest steps we have to take when entering divorce is telling our kids and then navigating these turbulent early stages with their best interest in mind.

There is a lot of excellent advice on when and how to tell.  Today we add some nuance to the conversation.  Telling the kids in a ‘garden variety’ divorce may look different than a high conflict divorce.  We talk about doing what is best for the children, not you or your spouse; keeping it age appropriate and sharing comforting details of what comes next without overwhelming them with too much information.

We also look at creating a parenting plan, and navigating emotional difficulties, and living under the same roof. Through all this, self care is vital and so we touch on what that can look like for you.
