We have been trained to believe that we must work hard to get where we want in life and business, right? We have to make things happen. We have to hustle. Flow? What the hell is that?
At the age of 7, I used to cry and struggle with schoolwork. I would instantly go into a panic thinking I couldn’t do it before I even got started. I was always filled with such anxiety as a kid over school and life in general. My sister was 14 months older and things came easy for her in school. She would get straight A’s without really working hard. As a little girl, I was super influenced by that unconsciously. So, when it came time for me to do homework or study, I instantly felt that I wasn’t good enough and panicked. In order to comfort me, I was told that I was super smart but I just had to work harder for it than my sister did. Ah-ha! And that’s the moment that shaped much of my life. I got the message that in order to get what I want, I must work HARDER for it than other people. I needed to struggle. My little girl self took that message and ran with it and I was operating off of it in my adult life.
When I started my business, this message was the one dictating my actions. I thought the harder I worked and the more I made it happen, the further along I’d get and the more successful I’d be. So, I did just that. I hustled. And hustled some more. I panicked. I struggled. It left me with stomach issues, pain, constant anxiety, and a loss of self. This is all that I knew about getting anywhere in life. I had to basically torture myself and struggle and then voila! My dreams would finally appear.
One day at the store, I even bought myself a pillow that said “Hustle” to remind me to basically work my ass off. Then, one day came that I looked across the room in frustration with mySelf and went eye for an eye with the “Hustle” pillow taunting me from across the room. The light bulb finally went off. Swiftly, I got up and tossed the pillow in the garbage and said no more. This is the day that I ended the ongoing story that was instilled in me as a child.
I was no longer down with struggling until I made myself sick anymore.
We are physical beings, as well as spiritual, so taking physical action like that sent the message to the Universe that I was done with this old story that no longer served me. I was no longer down with struggling until I made myself sick anymore. I knew there had to be a better way so I took what I knew about manifesting love and implemented it into manifesting a successful business. Just my desire for this business meant it was meant for me, which meant it indeed was going to work out. I decided to become a vibrational match for my ideal business vision. I decided to allow myself to be open to receive. And most importantly, I decided to finally let go.
4 Kick-Ass Ways to Create a Flow of Success in Your Business
We are put on this planet with a purpose. We come here with an agenda. When we are connected to ourselves, we stay true to that purpose. We listen to what we want and act from a place of love instead of fear. Fear keeps us playing small and stuck. Love allows us to have faith and remember how powerful we are to go after our heart’s desires. When I remembered who I was and what I came here to do, I realized that just in my desire for this business meant it was meant for me. In this realization, it left me with the faith in knowing it was already successfully mine.
In order to reach any of our dreams, we must become a match for them. Like attracts like. What we focus on expands and becomes our reality. If I continuously allowed myself to be isolated and work, work, work, I would never become a true match. Instead, I would just be attracting more reasons to hustle. I was sending the message to the Universe that I didn’t want free time when I was using every minute of it for my business. Instead, I decided to have fun! I decided to raise my vibration by being with friends and family instead of working all day everyday. I allowed myself to have free time even if it meant I read a book or watched a good movie. I began to take myself on dates again, connected with others, and made sure to find ways to laugh a lot more. This helped raise my vibration to become a match for my business goals.
In order to be successful, we must be open to receive. This requires us to step into our feminine energy of flow and out of our masculine energy of hustling and making things happen. In order to do this, I began to accept compliments without having to give one back or discounting them. I got massages, got my nails done, and indulged in lots of self-care. This created space for my business to flow as I let go of the resistance of thinking I had to make it happen.
Put your order in by asking the Universe for what you want. Then, have faith and believe that your wish was heard and let that s**t go! By holding onto it and forcing it, we are just creating more resistance around it. Picture a fire. A fire needs oxygen to grow. When a fire is smothered, it goes out. The more we smother the thing that we want most, the more we are actually pushing it further away.
Once I implemented these four strategies, I created my first five figure month since starting my own business. I instantly soared without actually doing anything. I simply relied on my faith, showed up and worked, allowed myself to be open to receive, and let go by having fun. It’s all about a balance of showing up and creating with simply allowing and enjoying. And it all starts with one decision to do so.
