This summer has been a sweltering one, but our online marketplace has been even hotter with some incredible items rocking at auction. See below our 10 favorite items sold in August 2018:
This month, we’ve seen some of the most stunning halo rings go at auction. Halo engagement rings became a trend back in 2011. While its origin dates back to the 18th Century, the diamond halo ring as we know it today is inspired in the 1920’s classic Art Deco halo ring that featured a round or cushion cut center stone surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds. Halos are such a popular engagement ring style because the pavé diamonds give the center stone a much bigger appearance.
Some of the most beautiful diamond rings we’ve sold at auction this month contained colored stones accents, like sapphires, emeralds and fancy yellow diamonds.
A few of the romantic pieces that stole our hearts this month included this gorgeous round cut collar necklace and an alternative take on the eternity band, featuring tilted marquise cut diamonds instead of the more classic round or emerald cut.
We’ve recently explored some of the hottest solitaire ring trends, and bezel settings are high on the list. Invented way before Charles Lewis Tiffany came up with the prong setting, bezels provide safety to the diamond in addition to giving an understated and modern look.
