When, earlier this month, Pantone announced ultraviolet as the color of 2018, we weren’t too surprised: purple has already started popping up on our auction platform weeks before the new year even started. A GIA 0.52 CT radiant cut purplish pink diamond and a GIA 0.45 CT square emerald cut purplish pink diamond were some of the fancy colored stones auctioned at Worthy this month.
Purple didn’t just come in the form of diamonds. One of our favorite items was a statement bib necklace featuring amethysts, rubies, pink and green sapphires, and three European cut diamonds.
We’ve previously explored the higher resale price that items from jewelry brands like Tiffany & Co and Cartier have. In addition to helping our clients sell jewelry they don’t wear anymore, we love having the chance to see first-hand timeless designs from these powerhouses. This month, two Tiffany & Co rings stole our hearts: a Love ring from Paloma Picasso’s graffiti collection, and a Wire ring from the Tiffany T collection.
When it comes to timepieces, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso was our absolute favorite. The Swiss house launched the iconic wristwatch in the early 30’s as a sports watch, featuring a reversible case was designed to protect the dial during Polo matches.
